 The Little Elephant and the Lost River

Once upon a time in the heart of the jungle…

Lalu, a young elephant, lived happily with his family by the great Sapphire River. Every day, he splashed in the water, played with his friends, and watched the shimmering fish swim beneath the surface.

One morning, Lalu woke up to a strange sight—the river was drying up! The water had become shallow, and the fish were struggling. Even the birds that used to drink from the river looked worried.

Lalu ran to his mother. “Mama, where is our river going?” he asked.

His mother sighed, “The trees that protect the river are disappearing, my dear. Without them, the water has no shelter and slowly vanishes.”

Lalu felt a deep sadness. How could he help? He decided to find a way to bring the river back.

The Journey Begins

Lalu gathered his jungle friends—a wise old turtle, a talkative parrot, and a tiny but clever squirrel. “We need to save our home,” he told them.

The turtle slowly nodded, “The trees near the river have been chopped down. If we plant new ones, maybe the river will come back.”

The squirrel twitched his nose, “But who will plant so many trees? We are just small animals.”

Lalu stomped his feet confidently, “Even small creatures can make a big difference! Let’s do this together.”

The Jungle’s New Hope

The friends worked day and night. Lalu carried seedlings with his strong trunk, the squirrel dug holes with his tiny paws, the parrot spread the message across the jungle, and the turtle guarded the young saplings.

Soon, more animals joined them—the monkeys, the deer, even the buzzing bees! The jungle became alive with the sounds of digging, planting, and watering.

As time passed, the trees grew tall, their roots holding the soil. One rainy morning, water started trickling back into the riverbed. Then, the great Sapphire River returned, stronger and deeper than before!

A Lesson Learned

The animals cheered, and Lalu smiled proudly. He had learned an important lesson—nature gives us everything, but we must take care of it in return.

From that day onward, no one in the jungle ever took the trees for granted again.

And so, the great Sapphire River flowed happily, and the jungle thrived once more.

Even the smallest efforts, when done together, can create a big change. Taking care of nature helps everyone, and working as a team makes difficult tasks possible!
