The Hen Who Shared and the Rooster Who Hoarded

Rich vs Poor Animal Story for Kids | Moral Story in English | Bedtime Farm Story with Life Lesson

In a peaceful corner of the countryside lived two neighboring birds: Henny the Hen and Rocky the Rooster.

Henny was a humble little hen. She laid just a few eggs a week and lived in a small, straw-lined coop. Still, she always shared a peck of grain with the smaller chicks and even gave warm feathers to the birds during the cold wind.

Next door, Rocky the Rooster ruled a grand henhouse filled with golden hay and overflowing baskets of food. But Rocky kept it all to himself. "I worked hard for this corn!" he crowed. "Let them find their own."

One summer, a drought gripped the farm. The earth turned dry, and food grew scarce. The chicks were hungry, the ducks were weak, and even the big cows began to moo sadly.

Henny fluffed her feathers and clucked, “Let’s help one another.” She gave her last corn kernels to the hungry and invited the tired birds into her little coop to rest.

Rocky just laughed from his tall fence. “Why should I share?” he sneered. “Let them suffer.”

But as days passed, his grand food stash rotted in the heat. The animals he once ignored stopped visiting. His coop grew lonely and quiet.

Meanwhile, birds from all over the farm came to help Henny rebuild her garden. Her kindness returned to her like sunshine after rain.

One morning, Rocky stood by her fence and said softly, “Can I help?” Henny smiled, handed him a trowel, and chirped, “There's always room for change.”

True wealth isn’t in what we keep, but in what we give. Sharing brings a community together.
