Once upon a time in a peaceful village, a hungry dog wandered the streets looking for food. After hours of sniffing and searching, he finally found a juicy bone behind a butcher’s shop. Overjoyed, he grabbed it tightly in his mouth and ran toward the nearby river to enjoy his feast alone.

As he crossed the bridge over the river, he glanced down and saw another dog in the water below—holding an identical bone! Without realizing it was his own reflection, the greedy dog growled, “I want that bone too!”

He barked loudly, thinking he could scare the other dog into dropping the bone. But as he opened his mouth to bark, his own bone fell into the river and was swept away.

Stunned and heartbroken, the dog stood there, staring at the ripples in the water. His greed had cost him everything. With a heavy heart and an empty stomach, he walked away—having learned a valuable lesson.
