🐴 The Lazy Donkey Learns a Lesson – Inspiring Story for Kids

🌾 Story Begins:

Once upon a time in a quiet village, there lived a donkey named Dodo. Dodo worked for a kind farmer who treated him well and gave him plenty of food and rest.

But Dodo had one problem — he was very lazy.

Whenever the farmer needed him to carry vegetables to the market, Dodo pretended to be tired. He would walk slowly, take naps under trees, or even lie down in the middle of the road.

Other animals on the farm noticed.
The cow said,

“Dodo, if you don’t work, how will you stay strong?”
The rooster warned,
“Lazy days lead to lazy lives!”

But Dodo just yawned and said,

“Why work hard when I get food anyway?”

One day, the farmer bought a younger and stronger donkey named Dino to help with the work. Dino was quick, cheerful, and loved helping the farmer.

Soon, the farmer stopped asking Dodo for help. He gave most of the work—and rewards—to Dino. Dodo still got food, but less attention and care.

One morning, Dodo felt lonely and sad.
He saw Dino enjoying a fresh apple the farmer gave him as thanks.
Dodo whispered,

“I miss being helpful. I miss being trusted.”

That evening, Dodo walked up to the farmer and gently nudged him. The farmer smiled.

“Are you ready to work again, Dodo?”
“Yes,” brayed Dodo. “I want to be useful again.”

From that day on, Dodo worked with Dino. Slowly, he became stronger, faster, and—most importantly—happier.
